Questions to Ask a Licensed Clinician Before Any Peptide-Related Intervention

A clinician-question checklist focused on safety, monitoring, contraindications, and realistic goals.

Editorial TeamJanuary 31, 2026

Why This Checklist Exists

Individualized medical decisions require a clinician who can evaluate your history, risks, and goals. This page provides questions to make that conversation productive.

This site does not provide protocols, dosing, or treatment recommendations.

Your Checklist

Bring these questions to your healthcare provider:

Evidence Questions

  • What is the evidence for this specific peptide and my specific goal?
  • Are the studies in humans? How large and well-designed?
  • What is a realistic expectation for results?

Safety Questions

  • What are the known risks and side effects?
  • What conditions or medications make this unsafe for me?
  • Are there long-term safety concerns?

Monitoring Questions

  • What blood work or monitoring would be appropriate?
  • How often should I check in?
  • What warning signs should I watch for?

Alternative Questions

  • What safer alternatives should we try first?
  • Have I optimized fundamentals (sleep, nutrition, training)?
  • Is this intervention proportionate to my goals?

Practical Questions

  • What is the regulatory status of this compound?
  • How do I verify product quality?
  • What are the legal considerations?

Why Not Provide a Protocol Here?

Because individualized medical decisions require a clinician who can:

  • Review your complete medical history
  • Identify contraindications and interactions
  • Monitor for adverse effects
  • Adjust based on your response

Generic protocols from the internet cannot do this.

Finding the Right Clinician

Look for:

  • Licensed medical professional (MD, DO, NP, PA)
  • Familiarity with sports medicine or your specific concern
  • Willingness to discuss evidence openly
  • Not selling the products they recommend
